Botanical Interests Alyssum Oriental Nights

Annual. Blooms late spring to frost. 4" tall, 6 - 12" wide. Sun to light shade. Alyssum seeds require light to germinate; press seeds into the soil lightly! Seedlings will emerge in 5 - 10 days. Many gardeners "dibble" transplants outside in clumps rather than individual pants. Tiny rich, solid deep purple flowers make this low ground cover a delight. Great in pots, baskets. Can withstand drought/heat and works as a border or rock garden plant. Alyssum graces pots and planters by hanging over their edges. And to top it off, it is very easy to grow! Nothing adds more to summer days than the gentle fragrance of sweet Alyssum! Blooms very quickly after seeding - around 6 weeks!
